The Kootenai County Emergency Notification System for Citizen Notification is a free citizen voice and text alert notification service used to contact you during urgent or emergency situations with useful information and updates by sending voice, text or email messages to your:
- Home and Work Land Line Phones including VOIP
- Personal Cell Phones, Pagers, or Smartphones
- Email Accounts
Although there is no charge to activate this service, interested citizens are encouraged to check with their wireless service provider regarding fees they may incur for incoming text messages.
The Emergency Notification Service is designed to notify you of emergency situations that affect your immediate community such as emergency incidents, road closures, neighborhood crime alerts, severe weather alerts, threats to school safety, community events, among others.
How to Register
Citizens interested in receiving alerts from this Service must register and complete a user profile online. The registration process allows you to identify how you want to be notified and verifies the address in the County. Subscribers can edit their user profile or unsubscribe online at any time.
